Go away and never come back!”

“Will you give me a

gift if I go away and never come back?” asked Jack.

“

Yes! Yes!” said the giant lady.

“Do you have a

magic harp?” asked Jack.

“I do!” said the lady.

Suddenly the

giant’s voice came thundering:

“

Fee! Fum! Fi! Foy! I smell a delicious, greasy boy!”

“The

giant is coming!” said the giant lady. “Here! Take the harp and run!”

So Jack ran, but the harp was a singing harp, and as Jack ran it started

to sing. The

giant heard the singing and came running after Jack,

throwing

rocks and trees and cows

at the fleeing greasy

boy.

Lucky for Jack, the giant threw like a giant,

which

everyone knows means not very well,

so

Jack reached the beanstalk safely.
